Food is kept hot in foil pouches sealed with a tamper-proof sticker.
Users enter their delivery address. If it is in the coverage area, UberEATS software calculates the fastest route and closest restaurant before dispatching a driver.
Delivery fees vary from city to city but in Portland expect to pay the price of the food plus a $4.99 flat delivery fee.
The company says the full menu will be available for delivery with the exception of soft serve cones. McPick 2 and other promotional pricing offers may be excluded.
There is no minimum order size.
The McDonald's tech effort includes self-service ordering kiosks, digital menu boards, and mobile order and pay. Mobile Ordering was first tested in Spokane, Washington.
