If students asked questions in French, Piquionne responded in French, and if they asked things in English, he responded in English, so all the students had to use their second language to understand everything he said.

While in Portland, the students from Martinique visited Multnomah Falls, played in the snow on Mount Hood and attended a Timbers’ game in addition to attending classes at OES. Later this spring, the students from OES will travel to Martinique for a French-immersion SUBMITTED PHOTO: TOM BERRIDGE - Frederic Piquionne signs autographs, some on Timbers' jerseys, for students from Oregon Episcopal School and Martinique, an island in the Lesser Antilles in the eastern Caribbean SUBMITTED PHOTO: TOM BERRIDGE - Frederic Piquionne poses with, from left, OES French teacher Micheline Ghattas and the chaperones for the Martinique group, Sandrine Helenon and Bruno Dunon.
