Limits will stay in place until each bridge can be repaired or replaced.

Weight limits on nine Washington County bridges were approved by the Washington County Board of Commissioners during its regular meeting Tuesday.

Recent bridge inspections and load ratings identified the need for extensive repairs or limiting the weight of loads allowed to cross these bridges, according to the county. The weight limits differ from bridge to bridge, and will remain in place until the bridges are either repaired or replaced.

The bridges are safe for normal traffic not exceeding the posted weight limits, county officials said.
