Washington County deputy sheriff charges with crimes related to domestic violence
A patrol deputy with the Washington County Sheriff's Office has been arrested for off-duty crimes related to domestic violence.
Deputy Brian Waterbury of Beaverton has been arrested on charges of fourth-degree assault, strangulation, menacing and tampering with a witness. An investigation is ongoing.
The case began on April 3, when the Washington County Sheriff's Office received a complaint regarding alleged off-duty domestic violence related misconduct by Waterbury, who had been assigned to the patrol division. On April 5, Waterbury was placed on administrative leave and the Sheriff's Office requested the Beaverton Police Department conduct a criminal investigation.
He was arrested by Beaverton Police on Monday.
An internal investigation has been initiated.
