Canby Telcom and CoBank have awarded a $2,500 cash donation and matching $2,500 grant to the Canby Kiwanis Club to help it 2013 Community Food and Toy Drive effort.

CoBank’s “Sharing Success” matching grant program is designed to celebrate the vital role that cooperatives play in individual communities across the country. Partnering with our customers to support worthy causes they care about is a great way for CoBank to make a positive difference and fulfill its mission of service to rural America.

Toys and nonperishable food donations were collected at drop boxes hosted by more than 40 local businesses. The $5,000 will help fill the holes that donations couldn’t fill for both toys and food baskets.

Last year the Community Food and Toy Drive provided more than 460 local families with food boxes and more than 1,200 children with a toy for Christmas.

“Canby Telcom and CoBank are proud to sponsor this life-touching program that lifts hearts and spirits during the holiday season.” said Debbie Jewell, vice president of customer operations at Canby Telcom.
