Featuring stellar vocals and tight harmonies "Papa Smoke" is sure to deliver a great show performing your favorite Classic Rock, Country, Southern Rock and Blues. Collectively touring the Northwest for over 35 years and performing with several major artists, "Papa Smoke" has perfected the art of musical performance and engaging an audience.
The band is: Butch Kent, lead guitar and vocals, writer, composer; Marcella Troxel, vocals, rhythm guitar, bass guitar, percussion; Aaron Troxel, drums, rhythm and lead guitar, banjo, harmonica and vocals; Mark Troxel, bass guitar, vocals, drums, and humor.
Last week's performance showcased the Norman Sylvester Band.
For the past few years, the band has included not only Norman "Boogie Cat" Sylvester, but his original bass man from the beginning Rob Shoemaker, drummer Paul Shoemaker, keyboard player Jeff Otto and horn players Peter Moss & Renato Caranto.
The Norman Sylvester Band often incorporates one or more female vocalists, notably the energetic and accomplished Lenanne Sylvester-Miller, Sarah Billings, a popular singer and radio personality who fronts her own band; when they can grab a date they also perform with one of Portland's most popular vocalists around -- the soulful LaRhonda Steele.
