Beth Fleisher has been tasked with recruiting and retaining volunteers for museum programs

The Aurora Colony Historical Society relies on a passionate group of volunteers and to help manage the resource, the ACHS board recently filled a newly created position.

Beth Fleisher was recently hired to focus on recruiting and maintaining the volunteers that help make so much of what ACHS do.

Beth Fleisher was recently brought on board at the Aurora Colony Historical Society to help with volunteer recruiting and maintenance, something the historical society and its many programs depend upon each year.

Fleisher was hired in October as a part-time volunteer coordinator. She is currently recruiting new volunteers to help with the historical society's annual fourth grade programs at the Stauffer Will Farm and Aurora Village, as well as other jobs along the way.

Fleisher has a bachelor's degree in anthropology and aminor in creative writing from Western Oregon University and has done master's coursework for an interdisciplinary studies degree from Oregon State University. She has coordinated volunteers for a variety of organizations and worked for the curator of the Willamette Heritage Center in Salem. She has a passion for history, and is interested in Native American culture.
