Smyrna sets next Memory Cafe'
Dr. Paula Baldwin, associate professor of communication studies at Western Oregon University, will be the featured speaker at Smyrna's Memory Café on Friday, Feb. 2 at noon.
Baldwin will discuss the importance of staying engaged in your community to keep your mind sharp and be connected with friends and neighbors to help you age in place as long as possible in your own home.
Memory Café takes place on the first Friday of each month from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Smyrna United Church of Christ, 31119 S. Highway 170.
There is no cost, although freewill donations are accepted for lunch.
Smyrna UCC's Memory Café helps middle-aged and older adults learn ways to keep their brains healthy, and to learn about resources available to help them live independently, and/or care for loved ones with cognitive impairment.
