Male pedestrian struck, killed by train in Canby Thursday night
A male pedestrian was struck and killed by a Union Pacific cargo train in Canby Thursday night.
The accident occurred near the intersection of Ivy Street and Highway 99E on Thursday, Feb. 1 at approximately 7:30 p.m.
"Union Pacific is being cooperative and the investigation will continue," said Canby Police officer Chris Mead.
The train was stopped at the intersection of Grant Street and Highway 99E, and crews were working to recover the body from the tracks between Ivy Street and Grant Street.
No other information was immediately available as Canby Police were waiting for representatives from Union Pacific to arrive Thursday night.
Canby's highway intersections are expected to be closed for most of the night, according to Mead.
