Canby's Knights of Columbus raise more than $18,000 to aid the local pregnancy care center

The Canby Knights of Columbus Council 3484 recently raised $18,225 for the Pregnancy Care Center.

Each year, the Knights put on a crab dinner and charity auction to raise money for local charities. This year the Knights chose the care center for its Feb. 3 event.

Following a presentation by Executive Director Linda Fender, a special 'paddle raiser' fundraising event took place to help raise those funds.

This year's event welcomed more than 400 guests.

The center is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and an extra hour on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and provides pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, pre-natal and parenting education, material assistance as well as medical and social referrals, all offered at the nonprofit's new location at 158 SW 2nd Avenue. All services are provided at no cost to its clients.
