Canby Adult Center in need of drivers

The Canby Adult Center is in urgent need of volunteer drivers to deliver lunchtime meals to homebound seniors in the Canby area. There are routes available for Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Approximate time commitment is 1.5-2 hours, using your own vehicle.

Walk and bike day set for Oct. 9

International Walk and Bike to School Day is on Wednesday, Oct. 9.

This is the chance to join the millions of children, teachers and community members across the world who will be using foot and pedal power to get to school that morning.

When students arrive at school, look for the volunteer handing out a “congratulations” and a sticker.

American Legion Auxilary sets breakfast for Sunday

The Canby American Legion Auxiliary will serve breakfast Sunday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at 424 NW First Ave.

The menu includes bacon, sausage, chicken fried steak or ham, hot cakes, hash browns, eggs to order with coffee, milk and juice. Cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 10 and under.

Use the Fir Street entrance.

Gem and rock show set for Oct. 26-27

The Clackamette Mineral and Gem Club will hold its 49th Gem and Rock Show Oct. 26-27 at the Clackamas Event Center. Hours for the two-day “CGMC 2013 Golden Jubilee” show will be Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission and parking are free.

Haunted manor is back this season

Milburn’s Haunted Manor is back this Halloween season, offering a pumpkin patch and three PG-13 haunted attractions, including the award–winning Haunted Manor. Admission is $9 or $20 for a multi-pass to visit all three haunts.

Christmas bazaar vendors sought

The Hope Village Christmas Bazaar is looking for vendors for this year’s event, slated for Nov. 8-9. Anyone interested in having a vendor table or more information, call Bess at 503-263-8373.

Pumpkin carving event slated

American Family Insurance, Advantage Mortgage and RE/MAX equity group have teamed up for their second Pumpkin Carve-a-thon on Saturday, Oct. 19, from noon to 3 p.m. in the parking lot at 255 SW First Ave.

Children ages 12 and under need to bring one can of food to pick a pumpkin to carve.

There will be live music, grab bags, child ID kits and face painting.

Canby Clinic, Cutsforth’s team up for healthy talk

The Canby Clinic has partnered with Cutsforth's Thriftway for a free health talk workshop the fourth Thursday of every month from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Cutsforth’s Town Hall.
