Thelma’s Place will present “The Sound of Music” silent auction-dinner on Saturday, Feb. 22, from 6-10 p.m. at the Willamette Valley Country Club.

The night’s speaker and entertainment will be Dr. Larry Sherman, professor at Oregon Health Sciences University. Sherman has played piano since he was 4 and will give a multi-media lecture and musical performance during the event. He will talk about how music can influence brain function and healthy brain aging. His presentation, “Your Brain on Music,” will focus on newer studies and include music ranging from Beatles to Bach.
