The Cougars have defeated the Cardinals in each of the last two seasons.

“The next six weeks, we’re not gonna play anybody with the caliber of talent that Camas has,” he said.

The Cougars will wrap up their nonconference slate Sept. 20 on the road against Portland-Lincoln.

Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Lincoln (1-2) lost to Wilson in its opener, edged Gresham on the road Sept. 6 and fell 42-18 to Westview this past week.

“Offensively, they use a lot of tricks, and they throw the ball all over the place,” Vaught said of the Cardinals. “On defense, they have some really aggressive linebackers adn they’re sending a lot of blitzes. So they’re all over the place on offense and real aggressive on D.”

Canby has faced Lincoln in each of the last three seasons, falling 49-35 in 2010 but earning victories in the last two years.

They won 33-21 in 2011 and cruised to a 42-7 rout last season.
