Garry Dean Huitt, 70, passed away in Bend, Ore. on Aug. 5, 2013. A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m., Aug. 10, 2013 at the Crook County High School. Bob Rutherford will officiate.
Garry was born Feb. 20, 1943 in Leadwood, Mo. to Glenn and Virginia Huitt. He graduated from Willamette High School in 1961. In the early 60s he started working in flooring, which lead to many years of being in the trades, building and designing. He was a business owner for 26 years.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, designing and traveling. Garry was a devout Witness of Jehovah for 56 years serving as an elder and Shepard for most of that time in multiple congregations.
He is survived by his wife Kim Huitt; mother Virginia Huitt; son James Huitt and family; Stepsons Tom Arellano and family; Raymond Arellano and family; sister-in-law Diane Huitt; nephews Mike Huitt and family; Dale Huitt and family; nieces Tammy Gray and family; Kathy and family; Jenny and family. Garry is also survived by 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father Glen Huitt Sr.; brother Glen Huitt Jr.; first wife Judy Huitt; and daughter Kim.
