Prineville resident arrested in ATV accident
On Friday, June 20, at 10 p.m., deputies from the Crook County Sheriffs Office, Crook County Fire and Rescue, and EMTs from Rager Ranger District were dispatched to a single vehicle accident located at USFS Rd. 16 and Kloochman Creek Road at mile post 7 in the Maury Mountains.
The vehicle involved is a Can AM side by side ATV that had hit a tree. Information was there was two male involved with injuries. At the scene the driver was identified as Tom Kristensen, 42 years old from Prineville and the passenger identified as Aaron Wuthrich, 52 years old from Bend.
Wuthrich was transported to St. Charles Hospital in Bend, by Life Flight due to his injuries. Kristensen refused medical transport and was taken to Pioneer Memorial Hospital by personal vehicle. Through the investigation speed and alcohol were the cause of the accident.
Kristensen was later released from the hospital. He was arrested on charges of DUII, Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangering, and Assault III.
