A three-day country music event scheduled for the Paulina area is still selling tickets online and at the gate until Friday when the festival starts.
In addition, event organizers have given away two tickets to every active duty soldier and National Guard individual in Oregon and are offering free tickets to any Crook County High School student.
The Lazy Rockin' Stirrup Country Music Festival will take place Friday, June 30 through Sunday, July 2 on the John Giorgi Ranch, located between Post and Paulina. It will feature onsite camping, several food vendors, a carnival for kids, a beer garden and more.
According to event organizer Tammy Van Vleet, the festival will kick off with performances by renowned comedians Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy. Musical acts scheduled to perform include the band Diamond Rio, RaeLynn, Chase Bryant and headliner Dustin Lynch.
"(RaeLynn) was on 'The Voice' their second season — she was on Blake (Shelton's) team," Van Vleet said. "She didn't win, but she is now an opener for him when he tours."
Lynch, meanwhile, has released hit songs "Seein' Red" and "Small Town Boy" and has opened for country star Brad Paisley. The event will also include a Sunday morning cowboy church service led by local Calvary Baptist pastor Rory Rodgers.
Event organizers are expecting a crowd in excess of 1,000 people, but they invite people to purchase tickets online at www.lrsfest.com or at the gate through Friday.
