No injuries caused by the blaze, cause is believed to be an electrical issue in the shop

PHOTO SUBMITTED BY DAWN REINHART - A house fire that started late Sunday evening destroyed a home in the Juniper Canyon area and burned three other structures. Crook County Fire and Rescue personnel remained on scene through the night. The cause is still under investigation.

A fire claimed a home in the Juniper Canyon area and burned a shop and two small outbuildings as well late Sunday evening.

According to Crook County Fire and Rescue Fire Marshal Russ Deboodt, the fire at an Akins Lane address was reported during a 911 call that came in shortly before 11 p.m.

Firefighters responded thereafter, fighting the blaze and keeping an eye on it throughout the night until the scene was cleared early Monday morning.

The cause of the fire is believed to be an electrical issue in the shop on the property.

Deboodt noted that the home was unoccupied at the time of the fire and nobody was injured. Red Cross has been called to assist the homeowners.
