Crook County takes 3-0 victory over Redmond

The Crook County Cowgirls trailed just twice Thursday night in an Intermountain Hybrid Volleyball match against the Redmond LON AUSTIN/CENTRAL OREGONIAN - Jennifer Roth goes up for a kill in the Cowgirls victory over the Redmond Panthers. Roth finished with four kills in the match as the Cowgirls won in straight sets.

“I was really proud of the girls — meeting their goals tonight and staying focused and ready,” said Crook County Head Coach Rosie Honl following the match.

The Cowgirls appeared to be on cruise control throughout the night as they demolished the Panthers 25-8, 25-9, 25-11.

Hannah Troutman led the Cowgirl offensive attack with 10 kills in just 15 attempts. Karlee Hollis was nearly as impressive, adding eight kills in her 15 attempts. Laura Fraser finished with five kills in six attempts, while Kathryn Kaonis, Samantha Kaonis, and Jennifer Roth each chipped in with four kills.

Troutman and Aspen Christiansen led the Cowgirl defense with nine digs each, while Kayla Hamilton and Abby Smith finished with 17 and 16 assists respectively.

As a team, the Cowgirls were 71-74 from the service line with 20 aces. Troutman was 19-20 from the service line with eight aces. Christiansen was a perfect 16-16 with five aces, while Hollis was 7-7 with three aces.

With the win, the Cowgirls raised their record to 8-1 in Intermountain Hybrid play, and 20-4 overall. Meanwhile, the Panthers fell to 0-9 in league and 0-15 overall.
