Crook County team led by first-time varsity players Kaiya Eller and Alexa Edwards

LON AUSTIN/CENTRAL OREGONIAN - Kaiya Eller sinks a putt on her final hole Friday afternoon at Juniper Golf Course. Playing in her first varsity match, Eller led the Cowgirls with a round of 105. The Crook County Cowgirls had a solid outing on Friday at the Ridgeview Invitational Golf Tournament, finishing sixth in the 12-team tournament.

Playing in the first varsity tournaments of their career, Kaiya Eller and Alexa Edwards led the Cowgirls' efforts in the tournament, which was held at Juniper Golf Course in Redmond.

Eller finished with a round of 105, good for 19th place overall, while Edwards posted a score of 107, tying for 20th in the 72 individual tournament.

Rounding out the scoring for the Cowgirls were Macy Goehring, 110, and Jaylyn Smith, 113. Sammi Todd also played in the event, but her round of 119 did not count in the scoring.

Sprague's Quincy Beyrouty was medalist at the tournament with a five-over-par round of 77. Summit's Sophie Dalphonsi was second with a round of 83.

Megan George of Pendleton finished third with a score of 88, while Hermiston's Mykah Krumwiede and Eagle Point's Nauyoo Beal tied for fourth with rounds of 90.

Although their highest-placing golfer was tied for sixth place, Bend Senior High used their team LON AUSTIN/CENTRAL OREGONIAN - Macy Goehring chips onto the eighth green at the Ridgeview Invitational Golf Tournament, which was held Friday at Juniper Golf Course in Redmond. Goehring finished with a score of 110 at the tournament.depth to win the team championship, finishing with a score of 377.

Sprague finished second with a round of 382. They were followed by Hermiston, 388, Pendleton 412, Ridgeview 425, and Crook County 435.

The Cowgirls were back in action on Monday at Bend Gold and Country Club, then play at Eagle Point on Thursday. Both tournaments are set to tee off at noon.
