See Special Speaker Joyce Beedle on March 16th At Family Support Group!
Sunnyside Meadows Memory Care opened its doors on December 16th and is now accepting new residents with a dementia diagnosis. As a help to the community, Sunnyside Meadows Memory Care is sponsoring a support group for families and friends of those with dementia. The public is welcome. Sunnyside Meadows is also establishing a library of resource books to loan to families needing information.
Nationally recognized expert in Alzheimer's care Joyce Beedle, RN and BSN, and author of The Carebook: The Workbook for Caregiver Peace of Mind, will be speaking at Sunnyside Meadows' monthly family support group. One of the country's leading pioneers in compassionate care for Alzheimer's, Beedle drew from thirty-five years' worth of experience with Alzheimer's to create an invaluable resource for families. To receive a free copy of her book, RSVP and attend the family support group this month on Thursday, March 16th at 4 p.m. Books will also be available for $10.
A diagnosis of Alzheimer's or dementia can be lifechanging—not just for the senior, but also for everyone who knows them. A support group can help family to connect with others who have the same experiences and help everyone adjust to "a new normal". Family support groups are held monthly on the 3rd Thursday at 4 p.m. at Sunnyside Meadows Memory Care. Meetings are not suitable for those with dementia. For more information or to RSVP, please contact Marie Nicholson at 503-798-1341.
