“Every War has Two Losers: William Stafford on Peace and War,” a 30-minute film, will be shown to kick off the evening and discussion 7 p.m. Thursday, April 10, at Oregon City Public Library, 606 John Adams St.

The library will celebrate the Stafford Centennial and National Poetry Month with current poet laureate Paulann Petersen, former poet laureate Lawson Inada and Andres Berger-Kiss exploring themes of war and peace in Stafford's writings.

Also, a “Community Wide Read” discussion with Kim Stafford is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, April 21, at Atkinson Memorial Church, 710 Sixth St.

Kim Stafford, author of “Early Morning: Remembering My Father, William Stafford” will lead a discussion about his book, which the library selected as its Community Wide Read title of 2014 in honor of what would have been William Stafford's 100th birthday.
