Clackamas County Planning Commission applicants needed

Public & Government Affairs Department's deadline for applications is Monday, March 13

Clackamas County's Planning Commission has three vacancies that need to be filled this spring. Each is a four-year term.

The nine-member commission advises the Board of County Commissioners on land-use applications and issues in accordance with the requirements of state law, in addition to Clackamas County's Comprehensive Plan, Zoning & Development Ordinance and County Code.

Officials say that Planning Commission members do not need to have expertise in land use, but should be interested in hearing public testimony, working with a group to reach consensus, and making recommendations to the board. The Planning Commission meets for public hearings and work sessions at 6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Monday of each month in Oregon City.

Clackamas County commissioners seek Planning Commission members from all over the county, but are particularly interested in representation from the rural and eastern areas of the county. The deadline for applications is Monday, March 13. For more information, contact Darcy Renhard at 503-742-4545.

Individuals interested can apply at web3.clackamas.us/abc, or via a paper form that can be obtained from the Public & Government Affairs Department by calling 503-655-8751 or in person at Clackamas County's Public Services Building, 2051 Kaen Road, Oregon City.
