Charges pile up on allegedly prolific robber in Oregon City
On April 26, 23-year-old William Kelly III was federally indicted for the March 21 robbery of OnPoint Community Credit Union, 19753 S. Highway 213, Oregon City.
Kelly is currently in the Clackamas County Jail on $500,000 bail on two counts of burglary and one count of theft ("FBI aiding Oregon City Police Department with OnPoint Community Credit Union robbery case," March 21). OCPD Captain Shaun Davis said Kelly had previously been identified as burglarizing the Oregon City Car Wash on March 11 and 18.
On April 19, Portland Police arrested Kelly on an outstanding Clackamas County Circuit Court warrant. OCPD wanted Kelly on the car-wash burglaries and transferred him to the Clackamas County Jail from the Multnomah County Jail on April 20.
On March 11 at the Oregon City Car Wash, 2200 Beavercreek Road, Kelly allegedly forced entry into the office when the business was closed. Once inside the office, the suspect gained entry into the safe and stole an undisclosed amount of cash.
On March 18, OCPD responded to another burglary at the car wash. This time, Kelly allegedly forced entry into the office but was unable to steal anything.
