PHOTO COURTESY: CCSO - Ryan Douglas Vanhorn surrenders to police upon stepping out of the stolen vehicle on Labor Day. At about 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 4, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputies located the stolen vehicle on Southeast Sunnyside Road near the Clackamas Town Center.

When the deputies attempted to stop Vanhorn and recover the stolen vehicle, he allegedly sped away. The pursuit ended on Highway 212 near Southeast McKinley Avenue when Vanhorn failed to negotiate a turn and crashed into a low, concrete median. Vanhorn was charged with unlawful use of a vehicle, attempt to elude, reckless driving, reckless endangering and possession of methamphetamine.
