ThinkGeek store opens at Clackamas Town Center
A new ThinkGeek store opened at Clackamas Town Center mall on Sept. 15 with raffles and "geek culture" giveaways.
With its 36th location near Happy Valley, ThinkGeek's merchandise is largely licensed from various science fiction and fantasy media franchises such as "Star Wars," "Star Trek," "Harry Potter," "Game of Thrones," DC Comics, Zelda and Marvel Comics. In June 2015, it was announced that video game retail chain GameStop had acquired Geeknet and its subsidiary ThinkGeek for $140 million.
All customers who attended the ThinkGeek opening event were treated to special offers on T-shirts and Funko bobbleheads.
The first person in line received a golden version of Timmy, ThinkGeek's code-monkey mascot. In addition, some lucky customers received exclusive "Starbase Happy Valley" pins and patches for their "bags of holding," fantastical bags from Dungeons & Dragons that can hold items larger than the bag itself.
