Libraries in Clackamas County's contest begins Jan. 2, and submissions are welcome until Feb. 11

Libraries in Clackamas County (LINCC) invites interested teens to submit original artwork for its third annual Teen Summer Reading Artwork contest. This year's theme is "Libraries Rock."

PHOTO COURTESY: LINCC - The winner of last year's contest, themed Build a Better World, was 14-year-old Lexie Ng of West Linn. The contest begins Jan. 2, and submissions are welcome until Feb. 11. Artists must be between the ages of 12 and 18 at the time of submission, and artwork must represent the theme. Entries should be in color with no text.

"We want to give local teen artists a platform to show off their work, dynamic energy and talents," said Rebecca Robinowitz, library assistant at the Sandy Public Library. "This is a wonderful opportunity for teens to participate and help promote our 2018 Summer Reading Program."

Like last year, the winning design will be used by LINCC throughout the county for all summer reading promotional materials such as posters, forms, fliers and social media.

A $100 cash gift card will be awarded for first place, and honorable mentions also may be recognized.

For more information on the contest, its rules or an entry form, visit lincc.org. Entry forms also are available at any of the 13 libraries in the county.
