Joshua Pegg, 42, charged with menacing and second-degree disorderly conduct

Milwaukie Elementary and Milwaukie High School were placed on lockout Jan. 3 after a man with a gun was reportedly yelling at people nearby, Milwaukie police said.

Joshua Robert PeggPolice said they detained 42-year-old Joshua Robert Pegg shortly after 2:15 p.m. The resident of an apartment near Clackamas Town Center was charged for second-degree disorderly conduct and menacing. Pegg was lodged in Clackamas County Jail on $5,500 bail.

Police said Pegg made personal threats to people after a parking dispute across the street from Milwaukie Elementary in front of an apartment building at 11275 S.E. 27th Ave. Police seized two handguns from the 6-foot-3, 220-pound suspect.

Pegg intentionally attempted to place the victim "in fear of imminent serious physical injury by making both verbal and non-verbal threats to harm or kill," according to Clackamas County Deputy District Attorney Bryan J. Brock. The DA goes on to say in a court filing that Pegg committed the crimes "with intent to cause public inconvenience, annoyance and alarm, engage in violent, tumultuous and threatening behavior."

The temporary lockout was lifted after Pegg was detained and police could confirm neither school was at risk.
