Emergency Services Foundation accepting scholarship applications
The Clackamas Emergency Services Foundation (CESF) awards college scholarships to students who have chosen to pursue a career related to emergency services. CESF administers three $1,500 scholarships to be disbursed equally through the course of the school year. The scholarship rules, procedures and application are available at clackamasfire.com/foundation.
Each year, scholarships are awarded to local youth to provide them an opportunity to give back to their communities through CESF's investment in their education. To be eligible, applicants must be a high school senior, high school graduate or degree-seeking college student. Applicants must meet one of the following: a resident of Clackamas County; an employee or volunteer of an organization who is affiliated with CESF for a minimum of three years; or a child of an employee or volunteer, or the child of a deceased or retired employee or volunteer. In addition to meeting at least one of the criterion, the applicant's college studies must be directed toward a career in fire science, law enforcement or emergency services professions.
The scholarship recipients for the 2017-18 academic year are:
1. Aaron Alexander, Pacific University, law enforcement;
2. Leilani Lopes, Honors College at Portland State University, surgeon;
3. Kaitlyn Reiner, Linfield College, nursing.
Completed scholarship applications are due by Friday, May 4, at Clackamas Fire's Administration Office, 11300 S.E. Fuller Road, Milwaukie, OR 97222.
