The talented duo rank among the best in the NWOC

Senior Bryan Marlatt and freshman Audrey Bright starred for Putnam in last week's Northwest Oregon Conference dual track and field meet at Sandy.

Both athletes earned first place in three individual events. Marlatt headed the field in the boys high hurdles (16.29), high jump (6-2) and long jump (21-5-1/2).

Bright had the top marks of the day in the girls 100 (13.70), pole vault (9-6) and long jump (15-0-1/2).

Bright's mark in the pole vault ranks her No. 1 in the NWOC this spring; Marlatt this spring has the second-best marks in the NWOC in the high hurdles and in the high jump (6-6).

The Kingsmen also got strong performances from seniors Bella Geist and Tyler Strauss.

Geist won both the high (16.88) and low hurdles (50.98); Strauss set the pace in the boys 100 (11.47) and 200 (23.37).

Others winners for Putnam were sophomore Angela Arrington in the girls discus (92-7) and sophomore Jonathan Wilson in the boys triple jump (19-1-1/2).

Sandy won the boys meet 80-65 and the girls meet 89-51.

Putnam hosts Sherwood in a NWOC dual meet this afternoon.
