Elizabeth Venzon of Clackamas Community College last week successfully defended her NWAACC title in the heptathlon at the conference track and field multi-event championships, held April 28-29 at Spokane Falls Community College.

Venzon’s winning point total of 4905 broke CCC’s school record by 300 points and it was just 83 points shy of the NWAACC record.

Venzon’s marks were 15.86 in the 100-meter dash, 5-7-1/4 in the high jump, 32-6-1/2 in the shot put, 26.63 in the 200, 17-9 in the long jump, 126-5 in the javelin and 2:27.38 in the 800.

Venzon is a graduate of Hidden Valley High School, where she was Class 4A state champion in the high jump (5-4) and triple jump (36-9-1/4) her senior year.
