Workshops at 12:15 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4, at the Milwaukie Center

Ukulele players who want to go deeper and learn new tools to take their music to a whole new level are invited to sign up for Ukulele Zen — Get Rhythm!, two workshops offered by renowned ukulele performer and teacher Stuart Fuchs.

TPHOTO BY MARK DELLAS - Stuart Fuchshe workshops will be offered at 12:15 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4, at the Milwaukie Center, 5440 S.E. Kellogg Creek Drive. The workshops will be followed by a solo concert by Fuchs.

The cost for one workshop and concert is $32.04 with service fee; admission to both workshops and the concert will be $47.57 with service fee. Tickets must be purchased ahead of time through ukezenportland.brownpapertickets.com.

Fuchs is a lifelong musician and a multi-instrumentalist with deep roots in classical guitar. He performs Django Reinhardt's gypsy jazz, Brazilian styles, original songs and his own virtuoso ukulele stylings.

He presents his workshops at many major ukulele festivals worldwide and is the creator of Ukulele Zen, a holistic approach to the ukulele, which blends yoga, mindfulness and qigong with fun and cutting-edge musical instruction.
