Police Log

Information for this column comes from Sandy Police Department public records. The Sandy Police Department provides service in Estacada. Officers recently filed reports on the following incidents.

ARREST

At 1:14 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 2, officers responded to reports of an assault in the 600 block of South Beach Road. They found a victim with visible injuries. They interviewed the victim’s cousin, who admitted to throwing a beer bottle at the victim’s head. The cousins had lived together for about three months. Salvador T. Nicholas, 19, of Estacada was arrested on allegations of fourth-degree assault under the Abuse Prevention Act and lodged in the Clackamas County Jail on $7,500 bail.

ASSAULT

Officers responded to reports of an assault at a bar in the 200 block of South Cedar Street at 11:42 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30. The officers were told that a man and a woman had been assaulted by a man known only as “Travis.” Estacada Fire Department personnel examined the victims. The male victim had a black eye, split lip and loose tooth. The woman had a cut lip. Neither was taken to the hospital.

Officers responded to reports of a disturbance in the 300 block of South Broadway Street at 12:58 a.m., Friday, Nov. 1. They discovered a person who had been struck in the face and was bleeding from the head. Witnesses associated with the victim told officers the victim had suffered an unprovoked attack from a juvenile Hispanic male.

An officer spoke with the brother of the alleged attacker. He said a group of people had driven by and delivered a racist comment.

He told the officer his brother had responded and the occupants of the vehicle had approached them. His brother then allegedly struck one of the vehicle’s occupants in the face and fled.

Officers are investigating the incident.

IDENTITY THEFT

On Wednesday, Oct. 30, a citizen reported an identity theft that occurred in the 22000 block of South Saling Road. An officer took a statement and documented the incident in a courtesy report that will be forwarded to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office.

MINOR IN POSESSION

A woman called police to report that teenagers were violating park rules in the Estacada Skate Park at about 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30. When an officer arrived at the skate park, he gave a 17-year-old a citation for minor in possession of tobacco. The officer warned that if the teenager returned to the park within 30 days, he or she would be arrested for trespassing.

THEFT

On Friday, Nov. 1, a building owner reported that a mounted animal head had been stolen from her building in the 100 block of Southeast Fourth Avenue. Officers are investigating.

OTHER INCIDENTS

On Tuesday, Oct. 29, an officer stopped a woman driving a car registered to a man with an arrest warrant on felony accusations.

BURGLARY

At 9:45 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, an officer responded to a burglary in the 100 block of Northeast Shafford Street. The officer investigated the scene and seized evidence, which was sent to the Oregon State Police crime lab for analysis.

Unknown suspects stole items from a residence in the 300 block of Main Street between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2. Officers are investigating.
