by: CONTRIBUTED BY KIM KURTZ - Cole Simmons, Mara Eakin, Seth Wenlund and Devin Kurtz admire their flocking handiwork.Flamingos have migrated to Estacada thanks to Estacada Youth Wrestling and the Estacada Mat Club.

From now until the end of March, the wrestlers will “flock” four local houses or businesses a night in an effort to raise money to keep the wrestling program going for junior high age kids.

The school no longer supports a wrestling program, so the Estacada Mat Club has assumed leadership and fundraising efforts to keep it going.

Here’s how it works: The wrestlers place a flock of lawn flamingos in the yard of a local house or business with a flier asking for a donation and explaining the flock will fly on within 24 hours.

There is also space to suggest other addresses to flock.

Estacada Youth Wrestling is led by Scott Wenlund and volunteers.
