Volunteers plot school garden

by: CONTRIBUTED - Volunteers help plot SEED's newest school garden at the Estacada Junior High School.SEED’s newest garden has been plotted.

A dozen or so volunteers spent Friday and Saturday, Feb. 21-22, preparing the site near the Estacada Junior High School’s entrance for a garden that will grow fresh produce for the Estacada Area Food Bank.

The project is being supported by a $2,000 grant from the Whole Kids Foundation and funds from the Estacada Area Food Bank and SEED.

Estacada Bark sold the group discounted path chips and Boring Bark sold soil at a discount for the project.

All American Rental allowed SEED to use a tractor as they moved 36 yards of blended soil.

Figaro’s Pizza and Harmony Bakery donated food for the volunteers.
