Data shows that local gamblers lost $2M at video lottery terminals at Estacada area locations

The Cazadero Inn and the Old Mill Saloon are two of Estacada's most popular places to play the lottery.

Recent data from the Oregon Lottery Commission shows that the Cazadero Inn had total sales of $600,848 and the Old Mill Saloon had a total sales of $503,749 during this past fiscal year.

In total, those who played the lottery in Estacada locations spent $29,732,041 on both traditional and video lottery games.

For the video lottery, Estacada gamblers lost a total of $2,289,457. Because traditional lottery tickets can be redeemed at any location, data pertaining to how much local retailers paid out is not available.

Lottery funds lost to gamblers are divided between the Oregon Lottery Commission and local retailers; in Estacada, the latter took home a total of $648,153.

A portion of funds from the Lottery Commission go to public education, economic development, state parks

and problem gambling treatment.

Between 2013 and 2015, the Estacada School District received $1,793,226 from lottery funds.

In addition to the dollars spent at The Cazadero Inn and the Old Mill Saloon, lottery players spent $421,071 at the Viewpoint Inn, $403,520 at The Country Restaurant and Lounge, $301,870 at Sabor Latino and Cantina Place, $259,621 at Harvest Market, $217,283 at Trails Inn Cafe & Timber Room, $197,405 at Hitchin Post Pizza, $165,834 at Estacada Liquor Store and $97,920 at the Estacada Moose Lodge.
