Tell us who they are by nominating them for a new Estacada News special publication coming out in April.

What would our communities be like without the men, women and even high school students who quietly go about the business of improving the lives of those around them?

These remarkable folks do great things for their families, neighbors and sometimes, total strangers.

Their efforts, in turn, positively affect all of us.

The Estacada News would like to introduce you to our area's "Extraordinary Citizens" in a new special publication, to be distributed the week of April 17.

But we need your help.

If you know someone who is truly extraordinary, we invite you to share their name with us. They can be single parents, successful entrepreneurs, youth mentors, consummate volunteers — those who selflessly give to others without expecting anything in return.

Please tell us why your candidate fits this description and provide as much information as possible about their career, community involvements and family.

We will need to know how to get in touch with you (email and phone), along with contact information for the person you are nominating.

Send an email with a detailed description of the Extraordinary Citizen you know to Special Sections Editor Anne Endicott at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

You can also mail your information to The Outlook (Extraordinary Citizen Nomination), 1584 N.E. Eighth St., Suite 200, Gresham, 97030. Deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, March 16.

We look forward to recognizing the Extraordinary Citizens who make our community better because they're here.
