Dinner and auction event moves to new location for this year and is scheduled for April

FILE PHOTO - Bob Jones and Aaron Neldner auction off a prize package for the Estacada Timber Festival during last years Spring Gala. This years event is scheduled for Saturday, April 14.

Leaders at the Estacada Chamber of Commerce are inviting anyone interested

to an elegant evening in town.

The Chamber's Spring Gala is from 5:30-9 p.m. Saturday, April 14, in the banquet room at the Clackamas River RV Park, 40505 Highway 224.

"We're trying to dress it up this year," said Brent Dodrill, president of the Estacada Chamber of Commerce.

The evening will consist of dinner, an auction and live

music from Rick, Barb & Friends.

So far, auction items include a rental of the party barge at Promontory Park Marina, television accessories from Reliance Connects and the opportunity to work as a brewer for a day at Fearless Brewing.

"The fun part is the auction. A lot of local businesses donate baskets or services," Dodrill said."There's a lot of great stuff, and we're just starting the process. There are lot of basket and goodies."

The silent auction will take place throughout the evening, and the live auction will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Culinary students from Timber Lake Job Corps are catering the event, and the menu will feature barbeque chicken, beef brisket, green salad, fresh vegetables and fruit, potato salad and dinner rolls. Complimentary beer and wine will also be available.

The Spring Gala, a tradition that began last year, is the Chamber's only fundraising event. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door or $140 for a table of eight. To purchase tickets, contact the Chamber at 503-630-3483 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Those interested in attending are encouraged to purchase early, as there are a limited number of spots available.

Last year, the event drew around 100 attendees.

The major sponsor of this year's gala is Portland General Electric. The company donated $1,000 to the event.

Dodrill believes one of the valuable elements of the Spring Gala will be the opportunity to connect with other people in town.

"It will be a great time for networking, and getting to know the other businesses in town," he said.

He encouraged anyone interested to attend.

"It's going to be a great night," Dodrill said. "It'll be a fun night."
