Pancake Breakfast

Springwater Grange will hold its monthly pancake breakfast 7-11 a.m. Saturday, April 5. For $5 you can enjoy eggs cooked to order, sausage, pancakes, hash browns, biscuits, gravy juice and coffee. Springwater Grange is at the corner of Wallens and Springwater Road.

Clackamas Repertory Theatre

Clackamas Repertory Theatre will perform a staged reading of “Falling” at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 5 at the Springwater Grange, 24591 S. Wallens Road. The play follows the experience of a family touched by autism. Admission is free, but donations are gratefully accepted. This event is presented by the Estacada Area Arts Commission.

“From African Rhythms to American Blues”

Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Ellen Whyte and Estacada students will perform original songs at a concert 7 p.m. Thursday, April 9, at the Estacada Auditorium. The event is a culmination of Whyte’s artist residency at the Estacada Schools. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear Estacada kids’ songwriting skills!

Second Friday

The Spiral Gallery is temporarily closed due to renovations. It will reopen Friday, April 11.

Nevertheless, a group show celebrating renewal, recycling, rebirth, repurpose and renovation will be featured throughout April. An art reception will be held 5-8:30 p.m. April 11. The gallery is at 341 S. Broadway.

Flea Market and Craft Sale

There will be a flea market and craft sale 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 11-12, at the Eagle Creek Grange, 24491 Eagle Creek Road. Vendor table spots are available for $6. There will be soup, sandwiches, chili dogs, pie, coffee and pop at the event. For more information, call Barbara at 503-668-6028.

Blues workshops with Ellen Whyte

Estacada Together has announced that Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Ellen Whyte is offering three blues workshops in Estacada to interested community members 7-9 p.m. Tuesdays, April 15, 22 and 29, in the Flora Room of the Estacada Public Library. Whyte will offer instruction on the blues genre, vocal techniques, dynamics, phrasing and projection and will demonstrate various blues singing styles. Participants will have the opportunity to select a song or two to learn to perform. No experience necessary. There is a $5 suggested donation. ESTACADA PUBLIC LIBRARY

Calligraphy Project

The William Stafford Calligraphy Project exhibit of Stafford’s calligraphic renderings, poems and writings will be on display at the Estacada Public Library from May 7 through June 4. The exhibit will be traveling throughout Oregon in 2014 in honor of Stafford’s 100th birthday. Stafford is a former poet-laureate of Oregon. The show is presented by the Portland Society for Calligraphy. FUNDRAISER

Spaghetti Feed

The Estacada High School Equestrian team will host an evening of spaghetti and bingo at 6 p.m. Friday, April 11, at the Estacada Community Center. A spaghetti plate costs $5 or you can enjoy dinner and Bingo for $10. Prizes will be given out after each round of the game. Proceeds will support seven equestrian team members on their way to the Oregon High School Equestrian Team state competition in May.

PFLAG

The next meeting of the Clackamas County chapter of the Parents, Family and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) will meet 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, April 22 at Atkinson Memorial Church, 710 Sixth Street, Oregon City. Call Danny at 503-887-4556 for more information.

Grief Share

The Grief Share group helps those who have lost a loved one find comfort and acceptance and to find the joy that remains in their lives. Confidentiality is required of all who attend. AA offers hope

The Estacada friendship group of AA offers hope and help for the alcoholic who still suffers. Meetings are held from 7-8:30 p.m. every Monday and Friday at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church Community Hall, 297 N. Al-Anon and Alateen

If someone’s drinking bothers you, Al-Anon and Alateen can help. Meetings are available just a 20 minute drive from Estacada at Eastridge Church, 14100 S.E. Sunnyside Road, Clackamas. Alateen meets at 7 p.m. every Tuesday.

In honor of Alcohol Awareness Month, throughout April, Al-Anon Newcomers meetings will be held 6 p.m. Mondays at the New Seasons Community Room in the Happy Valley Town Center at 162nd Avenue and Sunnyside Road in Happy Valley.
