Inspire Yourself to get into that Fall workout!
Cool weather is coming! Time to get into The Gym for those indoor workouts. Woody Allen says 80% of success is showing up. While he is not known as a fitness guru, he did get this one right. If you want success at The Gym, you must go to The Gym. And now that you are at The Gym, let's have some tips for quality time there.
The first one is easy and you know this, you just don't do this. Stay hydrated. Drink water throughout the day before a workout because you know that you lose 10% of your strength from dehydration, right. Well, you do, drink!
Put on some tunes. Wearing headphones can inspire and motivate you to work harder while protecting your Gym mates from Frank Sinatra's Fly Me to the Moon.
Watch the clock and by that I mean, don't drag out those rest periods. Shorter rests, longer work times mean more results.
Stay seated. Yep, you've been doing those curls and overhead triceps extensions the same way forever but let's switch 'em up, and try them from a seated position. And if you have been doing them seated, stand up. Maintaining your form at all times, of course. Doing the same thing a different way is a great way to keep your interest.
