Citys new Sustainability Commission seeks members

Do you care about sustainability? Do you live in or near Forest Grove? If you do, and have time and energy to commit to your community, Applications to serve on the newly created Sustainability Commission will be taken until Dec. 31. Just check out the city of Forest Grove’s website or stop by city hall and pick up an application.

The commission will be composed of 13 members selected by the Council from: Pacific University, non-profit public service organizations, Clean Water Services, the Forest Grove School District, students (from Forest Grove High School and Pacific), those with a demonstrated interest in sustainable business practices, educators, those with an a diversity of ethnic and cultural affiliations, persons with diverse economic backgrounds and interests, and members of community or neighborhood groups. Not all groups need to be represented.

Go to forestgrove-or.gov and click on City Hall, then Citizen Boards and Commissions. The application can be found there. From the Citizen Boards and Commissions page, click on Sustainability Commission to see the action plan.
