Summer Reading, Hungrytown, TED talk coming to Forest Grove library this week
With the countywide Summer Reading program fast approaching, the Forest Grove City Library is holding a kick-off party for the adult Summer Reading program from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, with Vermont-based folk-music duo Hungrytown. There will also be actors from Hillsboro's HART Theatre, face painting for adults, food and more.
Summer Reading offers prizes and other incentives to encourage people of all ages to read more books. There are also a variety of events throughout the summer for children, teens and adults.
- This Saturday, May 20, adults are also invited to listen a TED Talk by Paul Bloom, "Can prejudice ever be a good thing?" at the Forest Grove City Library. There will be treats from Maggie's Buns. The program runs 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. There will be time for discussion after listening to the talk.
