The ornament will be available at the Artisan's Holiday Market during the Holiday in the Grove festivities, scheduled to take place in the Community Auditorium, 1915 Main St. in Forest Grove, on Saturday, Dec. 2.

Artist Kathy Juvet has been a longtime member of Friends of Historic Forest Grove. Since her retirement, she's done much of the design work for FHFG events and promotions.COURTESY PHOTO - Artist and Friends of Historic Forest Grove member Kathy Juvet designed the 2017 Forest Grove holiday ornament.

Juvet's wood and paper ornament is a tribute to the second oldest building in Forest Grove. The Alvin T. Smith House is a two-story Greek Revival-style house built in 1854 by Smith himself. The house is owned by Friends of Historic Forest Grove (FHFG), a nonprofit organization that's gradually restoring the house with donation and grant funding.

Proceeds from ornament sales will be donated to FHFG to help with the restoration of the house.
