NEWS-TIMES PHOTO: CHRISTOPHER OERTELL - This cleared lot at Hawthorne Street and 26th Avenue in Forest Grove will ultimately hold 29 single-family homes and an apartment building. The large cleared space at Hawthorne Street and 26th Avenue will be the site of Hawthorne Gardens, a subdivision of 29 attached single-family homes being developed by North Plains-based Creekwood Homes.

An adjacent lot, on Hawthorne Street about 50 yards south of 26th, will hold a 16-unit apartment building, which is also a Creekwood Homes project, although it's not yet ready for development.

According to Creekwood Homes founder and owner Evna Scesa, the apartment building needs to be further approved by the Forest Grove Planning Commission.

Scesa said the single-family homes will range from 1,600 to 2,000 square feet and include three to four bedrooms, two-car garages and tankless water heaters. They will be solar-ready and participate in Energy Trust of Oregon's EPS scoring certification program.COURTESY GRAPHIC: CREEKWOOD HOMES - This rendering shows the planned layout of the subdivision, including a future apartment building on Hawthorne Street, about 100 yards south of 26th Avenue.
