This week's calls include: a fight outside the library, a bomb report and fooling around on a hood.

During the week, Forest Grove police officers were engaged in more than 416 activities, both reported and self-initiated.

Friday, Jan. 5

• A caller reported a man screaming near a bus stop. Officers contacted the man, who explained he was just singing to the music on his phone and proceeded to the next bus out of town.

• During night shift, a woman reported that her computer had been compromised by hackers after she visited an astrology website. As police were responding, the woman called to cancel police assistance, explaining that she wanted to get some sleep.

• A bar employee called police after an unhappy, heavily intoxicated customer was asked to leave the premises and allegedly punched a vehicle on his leaving. Police found damage to the vehicle and are investigating further.

Saturday, Jan. 6

• Police contacted a man acting erratically outside the city library; the man was suspected to be under the influence of multiple substances, a violation of his probation. The man subsequently resisted arrest and put up a fight, injuring one officer and causing another officer to take pepper spray to the face. After a struggle, the man was arrested on several charges and taken to jail.

• Officers responded to a scene where a child had climbed on top of a play structure, approximately 30 feet high. Police attempted multiple times to convince the child to come down but to no avail. Forest Grove Fire arrived shortly after and through a collaborative effort the child was brought down and reunited with his caregivers.

• A caller reported a suspicious person yelling threats to harm people at a local park. Officers contacted the man who provided false information to officers and was in violation his probation. He was arrested.

Sunday, Jan. 7

• Police received a call that a man had held his mother against her will in a vehicle overnight, threatening to harm her if she left. After a brief investigation, the man was arrested on multiple charges.

• A lounge reported that a customer damaged a lottery machine. The suspect was arrested for criminal mischief.

• A caller reported their neighbor routinely supplied alcohol to teenagers. Officers are investigating.

Monday, Jan. 8

• Forest Grove police assisted Scappoose police in locating a woman who had reported an ignited bomb under her vehicle, believed to be staying in Forest Grove and possibly experiencing mental health issues. Officers found the woman in a local hotel; she advised that she was safe and she was provided with mental health resources.

• A caller reported a group of individuals in an apartment complex laundry room causing a scene in the middle of the night. They agreed to move along without incident.

Tuesday, Jan. 9

• Police contacted two individuals reportedly engaged in sexual activity on the hood of a vehicle in plain view of a major road. One individual had multiple warrants out for his arrest; he was taken to jail.

• A woman reported that she had been attacked by a roommate, but she could provide no suspect information nor explain the incident. After talking with officers, the woman advised she no longer wanted assistance.

• Police searched for a suspect who allegedly stole multiple items from a convenient store.

Wednesday, Jan. 10

• A caller reported overhearing a youth and a construction worker converse about exchanging dope, possibly utilizing the porta-potties at the location for illicit activity. Officers found no one matching the description.

• Officers responded to a hotel where a guest was making a scene in the breakfast area. When asked to leave, the woman explained she was already packed up and headed to a new location.

• Police responded to a rehabilitation center where a patient admitted to slapping another patient and then crashed their scooter into the other's scooter. The instigator was cited for harassment.

Thursday, Jan. 11

• A caller reported a man wearing colorful yoga pants stole candy from a convenience store.

• A delivery person reported an individual seen slumped over in a chair inside a residence and unresponsive to the doorbell. Officers entered the premise and located the resident deceased; the medical examiner took over while officers on the next shift contacted next of kin.

• A woman reported having a heated argument with her husband regarding who got to use the car. Officers determined that no crime had occurred.
