Apartment complex readies for occupancy on Pacific Avenue
The largest new apartment complex in Forest Grove in years is preparing to welcome its first tenants next week.
The Forestplace Apartment Homes expects residents to start moving in on Friday, April 6. Not all of its 192 units — a huge number by Forest Grove's standards — are tenant-ready, but property manager Adriana Anderson said she has been meeting with prospective lessees since January.
"We're going to have … tentatively three (buildings) delivered to us in April," Anderson said. "And then we're going to have another three delivered the first part of May, and then two more the end of May, beginning of June."
Cleaning crews last week tidied up finished apartments to make them tour-friendly. Work crews are continuing to complete more.
"I'm really excited for everything to be done," Anderson laughed.Studio apartments at the Forestplace start at $1,049. One-bedroom units start at $1,099. The apartment complex also includes some larger, more expensive two- and three-bedroom units. Single-car garages will also be available for tenants to rent.
Climate control is built into all apartments, Anderson said.
Situated on the south side of Pacific Avenue a couple blocks east of Highway 47, the Forestplace Apartment Homes are served by TriMet bus line 57, which runs between Forest Grove and Beaverton.
"Anybody that's wanting to move into something that's new with amenities, that likes the convenience of not having to do landscaping and wants somebody to cater to them … we're here to make their lives easier, essentially," said Anderson.
A clubhouse on-site is set to be complete by November, Anderson said. Once it is finished, the clubhouse will feature a swimming pool, hot tub and sports court for Forestplace residents, as well as meeting and event space.
The Forestplace Apartment Homes are located at 3802 Pacific Ave.Work on the apartment complex is being handled by general contractor I & E Construction. C&R Real Estate Services Co. is the property manager.
Construction started last year. Just to the west along Pacific Avenue, work is also underway on a small commercial development. Anderson said once all of that construction in the area is complete, residents will be just a short walk away from amenities expected to include a laundromat, banking and credit union services, and a convenience store, as well as Ace Hardware a little further west at 3602 Pacific Ave.
The Forestplace is the second of three apartment complexes coming online in Forest Grove this year. It was preceded by the Cedar Manor Apartments, a 28-unit complex at 2024 Hawthorne St. that opened this month. A third complex, the 78-unit Jesse Quinn Apartments, has risen over the past year on the former Times-Litho property downtown at 1831 Pacific Ave. but has not yet begun leasing.
"It seems really exciting," Anderson said. "It depends on who you talk to — it seems like some people are really excited for the change, and some aren't so much. But I think it'll be good for Forest Grove."
