The man who died in a motorcycle crash in Corbett on Wednesday night has been identified as a local resident.

Bryan M. Bierer, 31, of Corbett died at about 6 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 7, when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed in the 53900 block of East Larch Mountain Road in Corbett, said Lt. Steve Alexander, Multnomah County Sheriff's Office spokesman.

Witnesses reported that Bierer was northbound on the road when he began popping a wheelie. But he lost control, sending him and the bike sliding 150 feet down the road before he collided with a tree and the motorcycle went over a hill on the side of the road.

Bierer died at the scene. Investigators don't know whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash, which remains under investigation pending the medical examiner's report.
