A 19-year-old woman, Tatiana Ofa, was killed and a man was critically injured when their motorcycle crashed into an embankment Wednesday night in Troutdale.

Kaleb Jarvis, 19, sustained life-threatening injuries. Both are from Troutdale.

According to the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, Ofa and Jarvis were westbound on Southeast Stark Street just before 11:20 p.m. when they lost control of a 2007 Kawasaki 650 Ninja on a curve, went off the road and crashed into a rocky embankment on the shoulder. Both were ejected from the bike.

Ofa was pronounced dead at the scene. Jarvis was transported to a nearby hospital. His condition Thursday was not disclosed.

The sheriff’s office did not confirm if drugs, alcohol or speed contributed to the crash.

Stark Street was closed for four hours between the Historic Columbia River Highway and Southeast Kerslake Road.

Gresham Fire Department assisted at the scene. The Multnomah County Vehicular Crimes Team is investigating.

Ofa was a 2012 Reynolds High School graduate. In her memory, students and loved ones are gathering at the Reynolds away volleyball games at Centennial High School beginning at 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12.

Reynolds student leaders are encouraging attendees to wear green in Ofa's honor.
