The Multnomah Dental Society will hold its annual Free Children's Health Fair 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at Reynolds Middle School, 1200 N.E. 201st Ave., in Fairview.
Amid inclement weather conditions earlier this month, the fair was rescheduled for Saturday.
The community outreach event provides a variety of health and dental-related services at no charge for students.
Among the services are dental, vision and hearing screenings; dental treatment and hygiene instructions; immunizations; lead poison screenings; and nutrition and diabetes information.
Booths will include information on a variety of healthcare topics for the entire family, Oregon Health Plan and Healthy Kids sign up, fire safety tips and Head Start information.
Each child attending will receive a "goodie bag" that includes a toothbrush and toothpaste and information on taking care of their teeth. Food will be served.
In addition, there will be entertainment and prize drawings, including the grand prize of a XBox 360. Children do not need to be present at the time of the drawing to win.
The Fair is being held as part of the American Dental Association's nationwide program, Give Kids A Smile, which aims to mobilize the nation's dentists during the month of February (National Children's Dental Health Month) to provide free oral health care services to thousands of low-income children.
