Book examines business marketing

Local authors Ely Delaney and Cindy Clemens were featured at a book signing March 5 at Origin’s Coffee and Tea House in Gresham Town Fair.

The two were there to promote their newly released book on business marketing.

Fairview police department seeks nominees for awards

The Fairview Police Department is looking for nominations from the public for its annual awards program honoring members of the police department as well as citizens and business people from the community for commendable service.

If a member of the Fairview Police staff, sworn or non-sworn, has done something that you believe has impacted your life or a family member in a positive way, nominate them to be recognized at Fairview’s Annual Awards Nomination Program.

Or maybe a neighbor or citizen has done something brave, heroic or impacted the community in a positive way and deserves recognition.

You can pick up a nomination form Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Fairview Police Department, 1300 N.E. Village St. You also can download the form from the city’s website at www.fairview.or.us. All nominations must be received by 5 p.m. July 1.

Did you check your smoke alarms?

As Sunday, March 9, marked the beginning of daylight savings time, the State Fire Marshal’s Office urges residents to use this occasion as a reminder to test smoke alarms before simply changing the battery.

Meet candidates for County Chair

Join the Gresham Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center for a Q & A with Deborah Kafoury and Jim Francesconi, at a Government Affairs Forum from 7:30-9 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, at Persimmon Country Club, 500 S.E. Butler Road, Gresham.

Kafoury and Francesconi are both vying for the position of Multnomah County Chair in the May election.

The forum is an opportunity to learn when they stand on the issues that are important to the business climate of East Multnomah County.

Tickets are $20 for chamber members, $35 for future members and include breakfast. Registration is required by Friday, March 21.

Francesconi will also hold a forum at noon, Saturday, March 15, at the Gresham Library to discuss his vision and plans for East County and take questions from citizens.
