Woman cuts another with razor after church
The Portland Police Bureau reported that at 2:42 p.m. Sunday April 20, East Precinct officers responded to Oliver Elementary School at 15840 Southeast Taylor St., where the Life Restoration Church holds church services, to a report that two women had been involved in a fight. One of the women had been cut with a razor blade.
Officers and medical personnel arrived and located the 32-year-old victim, who had a large cut on one of her arms and was missing one of her weaved hair braids. Officers located the suspect at the school, 30-year-old Naomi Etta Perkins, and placed her under arrest.
Perkins and the victim were known to each other, and had a dispute after church over a man known to both of them, according to Portland police. Perkins allegedly used a razor blade to cut one of the victim's braids off of her head. As the two struggled, Perkins cut the other woman on one of her arms, causing a significant injury. The victim was transported to a Portland hospital for treatment to her non-life-threatening injury.
Perkins was arrested for third-degree assault and booked into the Multnomah County jail.
